WeWorld Background:
WeWorld is an INGO working across 27 countries and is part of ChildFund Alliance (CFA). WeWorld has a long-term experience in implementing multi-sectorial responses emergencies (e.g., Syria, Palestine, Haiti, Mali). In Ukraine WeWorld has been providing multi-sectoral lifesaving assistance in Lviv, Kyiv, Kharkiv and Odessa Oblasts, and in newly liberated areas leveraging on existing partnership and capacity to timely identify and respond to needs.
WeWorld offices are so far established in Lviv, Kyiv and Kharkiv and within the next month in Mykolaiv to cove rMykolaiv/Kherson operation.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direction and supervision of the WASH Technical Engineer, the WASH Officer will be responsible for supervise and following up the project activities in relation to WASH services repairs and support in WeWorld areas of operation, mainly: Mykolaivska and Khersonska Oblast.
In particular, she/ he will be requested to:
• Technical responsibilities:
1. Conduction of technical assessments and support the development of technical BoQs and drawings;
2. Support the preparation of tender documentation.
3. Together with the Line Manager, supervise the work of the Consultants/Contractors contracted within WeWorld projects. This includes but is not limited to: daily supervision of implementation of works, collection and analysis of contractors’ reports, quality controls, verification of executed quantities, etc.
4. Develop plans and follow up on the implementation of tasks requested by line manager;
5. Report on works implementation in writing on regular basis as requested by the line manager;
6. Guarantee the compliance of WeWorld interventions with Ukrainian regulations (standards, environmental procedures, safety, etc.);
7. Facilitate the coordination between WeWorld and Contractors, Partners and local authorities;
8. Assist in the implementation of the general WeWorld action plan, review achievements and constraints and provide feedback accordingly;
9. Carry out any other task that may be required by the Line Manager.
Monitoring and Reporting Tasks
1. Report to the line manager with accurate reports about the work progress and timely reports about specific activities;
2. Guarantee that all the technical documentation is properly filled, updated and classified;
3. Participate in the follow up of monitoring indicators for WeWorld activities and to the redaction of regular donor progress and impact reports by providing the needed information;
4. Any other task not here listed and necessary to the projects and activities;
Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- BA Degree in Engineering (Civil, Architecture, or Mechanical Engineering) or similar field;
- At least 2 years’ experience in similar position;
- Experience with a contractor is a plus;
- Experience with an NGO in rehabilitation works is a plus;
Languages & Skills
- Working language Ukrainian.
- Fluency in English (oral and written)
- Interpersonal and teamwork skills, and prepositive spirit able to maintain effective working relationships with people of diverse cultural and national backgrounds.
Desirable Knowledge
- Experience in humanitarian emergencies;
- Expertise in Microsoft office software.
- Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Skills;
- Data Management skills
WHAT WE OFFER
Type of contract: a first 3 (three) months collaboration contract subject to evaluation; a second collaboration contract of 6 (six) months renewable, following the positive evaluation of the first three months of contract with social benefits guaranteed as per national labor legislation.
Economic conditions: to be defined according to WeWorld Salary Scale: Base Salary (seniority/role held).
Annual leave: 2,5 days/month (working days)
