AWO International has been involved in Ukraine since Russia’s waragainst Ukraine in February 2022, which violated international law. Together with our Ukrainian partner organisations, we support the population affected by the war. Ourprogramme priorities in Ukraine are emergency relief and rehabilitation with a focus on renovation of buildings, winterisation activities and promoting access to basic social, health and educational services as well as MHPSS. Furthermore, we strengthen Ukrainian civil society and promote gender equality and inclusion.
Your tasks
• Support AWO International Head Officein further developing the Ukraine programme
• Conduct needs assessments in newly liberated areas
• Assist Head Office to select new partner organisations in Ukraine
• Assist and advise AWO International’s partner organisations in Ukraineduring project cycle
• Monitor project progress and results against the logframe
• Finalisation of project proposal and budget as well as reporting documents at partner level
• Support Head Office in preparing donor reports and proposals
• Responsible for proper budget implementation, controlling and timely expenditure of funds
• Assist Head Office to plan and prepare visits to Ukraine
• Support the registration of AWO International in Ukraine
• Establish an office space in Kyiv
• Introduce AWO International office and security procedures
• Represent AWO International in relevant meetings with different stakeholders
• Arrange capacity development interventions for AWO International’s partner organisations
• Support hiring and capacitating national staff
• Technical and administrative supervision of national staff
• Identify and manage consultants including construction engineers supporting the projects
• Contribute to AWO International requests for fund raising and public relations
• Any other task assigned by the Programme Coordinator Ukraine at Head Office
Your profile
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a management position in the humanitarian action and development cooperation context in Ukraineor similar experiences
• Documented results related to previous position’s responsibilities – especially in Ukraine
• Excellent knowledge of Ukrainian context
• Proven experience in working with UkraineNon-Governmental Organisations
• Proven track record in managing public funds and donations, e.g. of international donors
• Fluency in Ukraine and English both written and verbal; German is an asset
• Solid knowledge of result-based project management, logistics/procurement, knowledge managementand finance
• Experience in supervising staff
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision
• Flexible and able to deal with sudden changes
• Readiness for regular field trips including to the newly liberated areas
• Valid car driving licence
