DAI is seeking qualified candidates for the Kyiv-base part-time Graphic Designer position (private-entrepreneur status) on its newly awarded USAID Governance and Local Accountability (HOVERLA) Activity. Interested candidates should submit their application through the following portal:

  1. I.               Project Background

DAI Global is implementing the USAID-funded Governance and Local Administration (HOVERLA) Activity, based in Kyiv, Ukraine. This project is designed to support Ukraine advance self-reliant local governance including legislative reforms, participatory strategic planning methodologies, service improvement, local economic development, civil society engagement, and capacity building of sub-national government entities.  The Activity has three objectives:

  • Objective 1:  Ukraine’s system of local self-governance is increasingly institutionalized and effective
  • Objective 2: More self-reliant subnational governance
  • Objective 3: Citizens play an increasingly influential role in local governance processes

  1.       Roles Purpose:

The primary role of the Graphic Design Consultant is to support USAID HOVERLA by providing creative design services on an as-needed basis, in particular infographics, layout and other graphic design upon request for HOVERLA’s knowledge products and study reports in English and Ukrainian. The consultant will work closely with the HOVERLA Communications Team to ensure that graphics display technical information in a compelling, visually attractive and accurate way.

Tasks

Under the guidance and supervision of the Senior Strategic Communications Manager, the Graphic Design Consultant will:

  • Design infographics for various publications and reports of the USAID HOVERLA Activity that visualizes data in a compelling and attractive manner.
  • Design graphics and layout for HOVERLA-produced knowledge products and sub products
  • Design HOVERLA dissemination materials (poster, fact sheet, flyers, etc.) with appropriate use of infographics and creative designs.
  • Any other graphic designs when required, including visuals for HOVERLA’s website and Facebook page, the Activity’s identity, rollups and souvenirs

Technical Requirement of the Deliverables

  • Format: JPEG, TIFF, BMPPNG
  • Colors: Both RGB and CMYK
  • Resolution: High (minimum 300 dpi)
  • Open file of the final design shall also be submitted

Level of Effort and Timeline:

The Graphic Designer position will be based in Ukraine. The level of effort (LOE) is up to 100 days on an intermittent basis between September 1, 2021 – July 31, 2022. The LOE for specific pieces of work will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
