The purpose of the survey is to gather data from communities on CIVIC activities related issues, inform CIVIC programmatic activities and to establish a baseline against which CIVIC will measure the impact of its activities in target communities in East of Ukraine.
1. Scope of work
The scope of work is based on the methodology set out below and will include the following:
A quantitative survey is to be developed in close consultation with CIVIC. The survey will include administering of a structured questionnaire with randomly selected respondents. Face-to-face interviews will be held with respondents aged 18 and above.
A convenience sample with some intentional over-sampling of specific groups will be adopted to ensure a representative sample (i.e. by gender, geographical location and age group). Random sampling would be used to select survey participants: respondents for the face‐to‐face interviews are to be selected using the random walk methodology.
For the purpose of this bid, assume the interview duration up to 45 minutes lengths. Preferably, it should be computer-assisted personal interview (CAPI) survey, i.e., conducted on tablets.

The survey will be conducted in 12 communities/settlements in Donetska and Luhanska oblasts: 1) Muratove, Novoaidarskyi rayon, Luhanska oblast; 2) Zaitseve, Bakhmutsky rayon, Donetska oblast; 3) Mariinka, Mariinsky rayon, Donetska oblast; 4) Krasnohorivka, Mariinsky rayon, Donetska oblast; 5) Lopaskyne/Lobacheve/Trokhizbenka, Novoaidarsky rayon, Luhanska oblast; 6) Troitske, Popasniansky rayon, Luhanska oblast; 7) Hranitne, Volnovakhsky rayon, Donetska oblast; 8) Mykolaivka, Volnovakhsky rayon, Donetska oblast; 9) Novotroitske, Volnovakhsky rayon, Donetska oblast; 10) Verkhnotoretske, Yasynuvatsky rayon, Donetska oblast; 11) Pervomaiske, Yasynuvatsky rayon, Donetska oblast; 12) Zolote, Popasniansky rayon, Luhanska oblast.
