USAID Economic Resilience Activity (ERA), implemented by DAI GLOBAL LLC, empowers business and community development in eastern Ukraine. The project works in particular with small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in manufacturing and engineering sectors to promote innovations, and expand to new markets across Ukraine, the European Union, and other destinations.
To strengthen our team an IT Sector Lead for the USAID Economic Resilience Activity to lead its support for the IT industry in the Donetsk, Luhansk and Azov Sea region. You will work with coalitions and leaders to articulate a vision for the future and put in place a modern, diverse, and SME-friendly economy.
About the job
The IT Sector Lead will head the project’s efforts to accelerate IT sector growth in communities like Kramatorsk and Mariupol that have growing IT clusters, as well as to lay the groundwork for the nascent IT sectors in communities such as Sievierodonetsk.
In coordination with growth team based on attracting more people into the sector by raising awareness of IT among youth and their parents, providing more and better training opportunities for young people as well as for groups, such as women, that are underrepresented in the IT sector in the East. Improving the level of preparedness to enter the IT sector by working with training organizations and high schools, universities, and other educational institutions to improve the quality and availability of technical instruction and providing support to IT businesses engaged in product development to improve their marketing and sales capabilities, as well as to improve the management skills necessary to build their businesses

To be successful in this role we expect you to have a proven work extensive experience working on issues such as new business development, visibility / promotion and / or worker / employee skill development, solid experience in providing operational or technical assistance to development programming in Ukraine or similar country context, strong communication skills and ability to present the project to the key audience, strong collaboration, leadership, negotiation and problem-solving skills, and ability to work with deadlines
