Please read these explanatory notes carefully. The link to the online application form can be found at the bottom of the page. The deadline for all applications is May 3, 2013 (12 noon CEST).
You can apply to the International Academy of Journalism online on this website. Unfortunately, applications sent by any other method cannot be considered. Before completing the online application form, please read these explanatory notes. Make sure that the chosen course fits your needs. Please read the program description carefully. Please also find our flyer with some general information about Intajour here.
The application form is divided into four sections. If you would like to have a look at the form to familiarize yourself with it, you can download a specimen here as a PDF. Please note that the actual application can only be sent via the online application form. Please be sure to answer/complete/fill in every section of the online form. Intajour can only accept applications if all sections are answered and submitted via the online application form. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
In Section 2 of the application form, "Professional Background", you will be asked to write an essay on motivation (length 2500 - 3000 characters). You should answer the following questions:
The ‘Journalism in the Digital World’ course is aimed at freelancers and full-time editorial staff
The ‘Journalism in the Digital World’ course is aimed both at freelance journalists and bloggers and full-time editorial staff. In Section 3, therefore please complete the field that applies to you. If both apply, please indicate so.
You will be asked to provide two references. At this point, please only provide your referees' contact details and not their full letters of reference. Please inform the people concerned that you have designated them as referees. Intajour will then contact the referees. The designated persons may not be your employer or supervisor. Any other person who knows you well personally or professionally and can offer an assessment of you is acceptable.
In Section 4, we ask for two documents that you should please upload as PDF files: your full Curriculum Vitae in tabular form and a letter either from your editor-in-chief or, if you are a freelancer, a colleague who is in a good position to assess your journalistic work.
Full-time editorial staff should ensure that the supervisor states in his/her letter that, in the case of a successful application, the applicant will be given paid leave to participate in the attendance phases abroad, and that the editorial department will provide support in a manner customary for the company during the challenging e-learning phases.
Please note that the "Journalism in the Digital World" program will be conducted entirely in English. Therefore, the motivation letter and all the attachments have to be written in English and you will further be asked to assess your command of the language (in reading, writing and speaking).
Please remember to acknowledge and submit the declarations at the bottom of Section 4 by ticking the boxes.
After submitting the application:
The Intajour team wishes you good luck with your application.
